upcoming projects

Hi, just a little sneaky peak of things to come, some are big DIY adventures and others small flings with pretty things, but all projects that are going to get us closer to achieving our dream of a pretty, quirky, eccentric, lovely, cosy home!

The biggy – the postage stamp kitchen, our biggest project. We are hoping to do the majority of the work on this over the summer and I will go into more detail on it’s progress nearer the time. However there is lots of ground work to do first and that means spending time gathering quotes, ideas and inspiration. Oh and a lot of money. So far we have arranged the work with a builder, and a plumber. Next to sort is the electrician. This is a huge project so deserves it’s own post.

Ongoing – the secret garden wall. The rain is getting me out of this at the moment! Replacement of the shed door and painting of the back gate. Any ideas on colours please? My neighbours are big fans of sagey greens, love them but want something a bit different. Am thinking French grey? Or maybe a duck egg blue?

Pretty, little (useful) things – a blackout roman blind for my room, the current arrangement of duvet over the window when on nights can’t carry on forever (it’s been over a year so far) I’ll upload step-by-step pictures. Garden bunting to dress those creamy walls (I’m thinking oil cloth bunting so I don’t need to worry about forgetting to bring it in when it rains). An upholstered seat cushion for my garden brick and paving slab bench (thanks to the previous owners for this, it gets to stay as it has potential) and some big, comfy cushions for it. It’s kind of like a brick sofa, but will save me on getting a bench, and is bigger too.

The list is ongoing but these are the things that’ll keep us going until the kitchen renovation takes over our lives! I can’t wait to cook properly again, the domestic goddess trapped inside is just bursting to get out.
